Nick Caley

Economic Development Image

Heading the economic development effort is Nick Caley, Director of Energy and Corporate Services. Nick is United’s main point of contact for anyone needing assistance either for locating within our service territory or expanding an existing business.

A great place to start is with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) website, the state’s leading agency for economic development. Among the local organizations United REMC works with to promote economic development are the Northeast Indiana Regional Marketing Partnership, Fort Wayne-Allen County Alliance, Fort Wayne Chamber, Wells County Chamber, Huntington County United Economic Development, Huntington County Chamber, Warren Area Chamber of Commerce, Roanoke Chamber, Markle Chamber, and others.

Economic Development ImageAmong United’s commercial accounts are well-known corporate citizens such as the General Motors Fort Wayne Truck Plant, Vera Bradley, General Mills, PHD Inc., Quadrant, and others.  United REMC is the electric provider for the new 1.5 million square foot General Mills facility being built on Bluffton Road just north of I-469, which will be the largest of its kind in the state of Indiana.  And currently, it is the largest project in terms of square footage in the entire nation. It is vital to everyone that economic development play an integral part of our business.  It helps our businesses, it helps our residential consumers, and it helps our workforce.
