Crossroads Energy® Metered Propane.

Exclusively for United REMC electric customers, Crossroads Energy is a unique and convenient metered propane service.

You will be guaranteed a set price for the entire heating season, and you will receive a monthly statement on propane use along with your electric bill. The guaranteed price for this next heating season now through March 31, 2010 is $1.899 per gallon. Now, you pay as you go, rather than the large - and expensive - bulk tank fills. Your tank will be kept filled by the ag co-op in your area, including North Central
(formerly Huntington County Co-op); Harvestland (formerly Adams County Co-op);
or AgPlus (formerly Allen County Co-op).

By locking in a price for the entire heating season, you know in advance what your propane cost per gallon will be before the season begins - and prices start to fluctuate.

The ag co-ops install a new tank, regulators, meter and gas line, for a nominal fee. And, you can pay both your electric bill and propane bill with one check for convenience.

Program Details:

  • In order to participate, you must have a good credit history and a deposit may be required.
  • Customers are provided with a 500-gallon tank at a no charge lifetime lease with a minimum of 600 gallons per year usage.
  • United REMC installs a meter at the house that is read each month along with your electric meter. The gallons that you have used will appear on your electric bill. There is no metering charge.
  • A signed contract is necessary.
  • If the home is a rental property, the contract must be in the landlord’s name, with billing going to the renter.
  • Restrictions do apply.

Crossroads Energy® is the brand name used by Cooperative’s Energy, LLC., a company jointly owned by North Central Cooperative, Inc. and Noble Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Noble County Rural Electric Membership Cooperative, Inc.

Energy Tip # 5
Know your Home!

Your water heater is the second largest user of energy in your home. To reduce its cost – use less hot water by taking shorter showers and washing clothes in cold water. Limit shower length to 5-7 minutes. Try using a low-flow shower head to keep pressure up but water usage down.
