Consumers can lease dusk-to-dawn security lights from United REMC for a nominal monthly fee.

The fee for a standard 100 Watt security light is $6.13/mth. plus tax. There are also 400W and 1000W directional lights available at $9.28 and $17.17/mth. respectively. All rates include the electricity usage and any maintenance that the light would ever need.

In some instances a light may be installed on one of our existing poles. If this is not feasible, the customer has the choice to either buy a 30' pole at $150 plus tax or lease a pole for an additional $1.87/mth. No installation cost is incurred for a pole being used for a security light.

In most cases there is no cost for installation of a light, but there are some limitations. A site visit by our representative would be required to determine if there would be any additional fees.

United will not install it's security lights on any other structure than a pole and no switches or devices can be put on the line feeding the light.
