United REMC no longer provides water heater maintenance.
Homeowners can choose who they wish to install a new water heater or have an existing one repaired. United can provide the names of several area plumbing contractors who do installations and/or repair work.
Electric water heaters are now more economical to use when compared with gas units. Contrary to some claims, it is less expensive to heat water with electricity than with gas.
Heat pumps both geothermal and air-source are considered among the best ways to save on both heating and cooling compared to many other conventional furnaces and air-conditioners.
To receive the rebate, members will need to complete an application available through United’s office. Simply fill out the form, attach of copy of the receipt detailing the necessary information, and return to the co-op within 30 days of the purchase.
Members who are considering a new water heater or heat pump installation can call United’s office for details to make sure the equipment they are considering qualifies for the rebate.
